Here are players who can help increase a manager's chances for success in certain fantasy basketball statistical categories.

Those seeking aid for specific statistics in their fantasy NBA basketball leagues need look no further than the waiver wire in most cases. Of course, depending on how deep the league is and how the manager's team is set up, finding those specialty players can be tricky, especially with limited roster space. Here's a guide on how to fill statistical voids for cheap, whether it be a head-to-head league or rotisserie.

Steals

  • Delonte West, Cleveland Cavs - He's remained under many managers' radars, but he's been a big reason for the Cavs success this year, and has averaged 2.3 spg in the past 14 games.
  • Luke Ridnour, Milwaukee Bucks - Not known for being a pick-pocket, Ridnour's averaged 2.1 spg in the past 13 games.
  • Mario Chalmers, Miami Heat - The rookie has been inconsistent, but he's been a great thief on the court, averaging 1.8 spg in the last 13 games.
  • Trevor Ariza, LA Lakers - If all that's needed is steals, or the league is deeper than most, Ariza's a decent option. He doesn't get the minutes to put up exceptional fantasy numbers, but his 1.8 spg in the past 15 games is solid.

Blocks

  • Ronny Turiaf, Golden State Warriors - If all that's needed is blocks, Turiaf's a great option. He doesn't score much (5.9 p pg), nor does he get a lot of rebounds (3.6 per game), but he's one of the league leaders in blocks, averaging 2.2 per game for the season and 2.4 per game in the last 14 games.
  • Brook Lopez, New Jersey Nets - Lopez has put together a solid month across the board, and has contributed with 2.3 bspg.
  • Chris Anderson, Denver Nuggets - Similar to Turiaf in that he doesn't play many minutes, but he sure blocks a lot of shots. 2.2 per game for the season.
  • Darko Milicic, Memphis Grizzlies - Milicic has pushed Marc Gasol to the bench and has responded with 1.8 bspg in the past 12 games.
  • Shaquille O'Neal, Phoenix Suns - Shaq's averaged 1.7 bspg in the last month, and has posted other nice numbers to make him a worthwhile pick up.

Treys Made

  • Daequan Cook, Miami Heat - Cook is not gun shy, and though he hasn't received the minutes behind Dwayne Wade to post spectacular numbers, he is averaging 3.0 treys per game in the past month.
  • Rafer Alston, Houston Rockets - Alston is back from injury and averaged 2.5 treys per game in the past 10 games he played.
  • Steve Blake, Portland Trail Blazers - Blake had a great month across the board, and averaged 2.5 treys per game in that stretch. With Brandon Roy battling injury, expect Blake to continue getting opportunities.
  • J.R. Smith, Denver Nuggets - Smith does one thing for the most part - make threes. 2.2 per game in the past month.
  • Matt Barnes, Phoenix Suns - Barnes has been a steady three-point threat all season and averaged more than 2 treys per game in the last 12 games.
  • Roger Mason, San Antonio Spurs - Even with Manu Ginobili and Tony Parker back, Mason hits about 2 treys per game on average.
  • Daniel Gibson, Cleveland Cavs - Gibson's known for his three-point shooting prowess and not a whole lot else.
  • James Posey, New Orleans Hornets - Posey's made a living off hitting treys and playing defense.
